Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Acupuncture is a 5,000 year old healing technique that uses very thin needles inserted into the body at specific points to allow for the continuous flow of the body's healing force (Qi) so that health and well-being can be maintained. Sometimes this flow is interrupted and to help release this flow and restore health needles are used along the energy channels (meridians) at various points.
Acupuncture has been seen in evidence based medicine to reduce chronic pain, relieve headaches and migraines, improve sleep, and support over-all well being. It is also used for digestive issues, allergies, and joint pain though results can vary.
Primary benefits of acupuncture include pain management, cancer treatment support, neurological and mental health, fertility and reproductive health.
Acupuncture works by stimulating nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, boosting the body's natural painkillers (endorphins) and increasing blood flow. It rebalances the flow of energy or life force (Qi) through the pathways of the body called meridians.
Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing - that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure directly to these “points” on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to be very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.
NMT is a specialized clinical form of manual therapy that treats chronic pain and dysfunction by targeting the root causes in the nervous and muscular systems. It is used to treat a variety of symptoms such as head and neck pain, back and spine pain and dysfunction, repetitive strain such as carpal tunnel syndrome, and many injuries such as whiplash, sports injuries, and post-surgical recovery.
Bells Palsy is caused by the 5th cranial nerve being affected. It can be caused by sudden or prolonged exposure to wind and cold temperatures leading to a compromised immune system. Sometimes the cause is unknown. Various techniques can be utilized to help mitigate the symptoms of BP such as acupuncture and non-needle electro-acupuncture. Needles are placed on local and distal points and also electrical micro currents can be applied. These are not noticeable and work in conjunction with acupuncture needles. The needles are very thin and painless.
ULTRASOUND
This technique is often used by PTs and Chiropractors but also falls within the scope of acupuncture practice. This is used to manage pain and promote tissue healing for musculoskeletal conditions like tendonitis, sprains, and bursitis.
Conditions treated: Examples are carpal tunnel syndrome, pain relief such as knee, shoulder, low and upper back, and general bodily stiffness.
Sound waves cause micro-vibrations and generate heat. This increases blood flow, reduces muscle spasms, and improves flexibility of tendons and ligaments. Ultrasound also boosts cellular activity and speeds up the natural repair process of damaged tissues.

By using a variety of non-invasive techniques facial rejuvenation can be accomplished.
Acupuncture
Microcurrents
Cupping
Gua Sha
Lymphatic drainage
Cupping is an ancient technique typically used in Traditional Chinese Medicine but is becoming very common in western massage practices. Cupping uses various forms of cups using suction to draw blood up to the surface of the skin to stimulate better circulation and lead to faster healing and pain relief. It is also used to correct symptoms of the common cold such as aches, pains, fever, and chills.

Microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses ultra low electrical currents to mimic the body's natural bioelectrical activity. Electroacupuncture is an aspect of electro-medicine that deals with the applications of electrical energy in diagnosing and treating the acupuncture meridian system (the series of channels throughout the body carrying the life force called Qi). This modality uses gentle currents that are usually not even felt by the patient and are applied through acupuncture points.
The currents are emitted as micro amperes and they will stimulate the production of ATP the energy source for our cells. This increase in production is up to 500% of cellular energy and facilitates faster tissue repair and protein synthesis.
Electro Acupuncture also has major benefits in wound healing, pain and inflammation, and blood circulation.

Gua Sha is a very old modality that has been used in eastern medicine as well as parts of Europe.
"Gua" means to scrape or scratch. "Sha" is a reddish elevated millet-like skin rash but this is not damaging to the skin. This is intentional.
Gua Sha is applied for pain when the blood has been obstructed in the surface tissues. Gua Sha is applied for treatment and prevention for the common cold and other chronic disorders.

Red Light Therapy is a technique using color light waves to penetrate tissues and effect healing and repair.
It reduces pain and inflammation using various wavelengths.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. I also offer post-natal massage which will support physical and emotional recovery in the first 12 weeks after childbirth.
Benefits include Physical relief of neck, shoulder, and back pain, Hormonal balance to ward off the "baby blues", reduced swelling to expel excess fluids and toxins, promotes better sleep, and with gentle abdominal work this can help the uterus shrink back to its pre pregnancy size. This can also help realign the internal organs.

Peripheral Neuropathy is a condition resulting from damage to the nerves outside of your brain and spinal cord. It disrupts the messaging highway that allows the brain to communicate with the muscles, skin, and internal organs. This can lead to numbness, prickling, or tingling, muscle weakness, and dizziness.
Acupuncture and Electro-acupuncture can help in alleviating the symptoms while encouraging healing to take place. Another useful tool is Red Light Therapy and massage. Together a comprehensive treatment plan can be created to help this condition while you also seek other medical professional care.
Raindrop Technique is a modality using essential oils
When an athlete or weekend warrior gets injured it is imperative to find the exact point of injury and which body part is affected. We do this with the use of muscle testing to locate the tissue that is hurt and where it needs healing. Some of the techniques used to treat the injured sites are deep tissue massage, cyriax technique (cross fiber friction), acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, red light therapy, and of course ultrasound just to name a few.
Some muscle tests involve the participation of the patient while others are passive. Common injuries involve the shoulder and the knees. Others like tennis elbow involve the elbow area.
There are modalities used in the clinic plus homework the practitioner gives to the client to perform outside the clinic setting such as using light weights and stretching. This helps the patient feel proactive and in control of his/her own care making for a better outcome.
